The Václav Havel Program for Human Rights and Diplomacy hosted a lecture by Dr. Jacques Rupnik, Centre de Recherches Internationale (CERI) at Sciences Po, Paris, on "Where is Cuba Going? A European Perspective." Themes to be explored include: Democratic transitions and their common elements; Case studies of democratic transitions as unique occurrences; How to unleash the “power of the powerless”; Relevance of the Havel “legacy” for today’s Cuba; among others. Following the lecture was a photo exhibition titled "La Otra Cuba: Before the Dawn," by Hana Jakrlova, Czech photographer. The exhibition focuses on unique stories of Cuban citizens living beyond the view of tourists and other visitors to the island.
