“State of the World in 2018” will bring together leading experts, practitioners, and current and former U.S. officials to examine some of the most pressing issues affecting the globe. Subjects to be covered include U.S. foreign policy, America’s standing in the world, authoritarian challenges from Russia and China, the Middle East and the fight against terrorism, policy toward Cuba and Venezuela, and the future of democracy and human rights. The audience will be FIU students and faculty, friends and supporters of FIU, as well as CSIS, The American Interest and the broader Miami community.
